The regular maintenance of a carpet makes me think of the food splattered on a stove when cooking. If it is cleaned up promptly after the cooking process, the mess wipes right up. However, if allowed to sit and become hard, the cleaning requires much more time and elbow action. Recently, we had our carpets cleaned for a party and many of the stains are simply set due to the time we waited. I can see now that if we clean regularly this will eliminate much of the problem.
